Apple pen device IQOS in Nouméa: the price shortlist
Apple in Nouméa: 22 units tested over 6 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
What the label on Apple is allowed to say
We run apple the same way in Nouméa: same pen device, same 6 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
Apple in a pen device is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Nouméa the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
If you only read one line: the pen device you buy decides how long apple tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a apple pen device really costs in Nouméa
Apple prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Nouméa that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within XPF2.3 per 10 ml.
How we tested apple in a pen device
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Stock depth: 22 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every apple bottle shipped into New Caledonia.
- Coil type inside the pen device, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Spare parts availability for pen device in New Caledonia, since tanks and pods go first.
Where apple goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why apple tastes flat after two days.
- Chasing a discount on a pen device that then needs an adapter nobody in New Caledonia stocks.
- Treating the advertised XPF63 entry kit as the real cost when refills run XPF2.3 per 10 ml.
