If you only read one line: the pen device you buy decides how long berry tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a berry pen device really costs in Nouméa
We run berry the same way in Nouméa: same pen device, same 5 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
How we tested berry in a pen device
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a pen device arrives sealed but wrong.
- Batch code and production date, so a berry bottle turned in 5 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Coil type inside the pen device, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where berry goes wrong
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long berry in Nouméa survives.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Mixing berry with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
The rules that apply here

Frequently asked questions
Why does berry taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the pen device units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the berry blend itself harsh.
How long does berry in a pen device last?
In Nouméa we measured 5 to 15 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
