What a blackcurrant 100 ml bottle really costs in Nouméa
The honest read on blackcurrant: 9 units through the same routine over 7 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
How we tested blackcurrant in a 100 ml bottle
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the 100 ml bottle that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every blackcurrant bottle shipped into New Caledonia.
- Batch code and production date, so a blackcurrant bottle turned in 7 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Stock depth: 9 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Coil type inside the 100 ml bottle, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where blackcurrant goes wrong
- Treating the advertised XPF65 entry kit as the real cost when refills run XPF1.73 per 10 ml.
- Chasing a discount on a 100 ml bottle that then needs an adapter nobody in New Caledonia stocks.
- Buying the cheapest 100 ml bottle available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.

Frequently asked questions
Is blackcurrant legal to sell in New Caledonia?
New Caledonia applies French-language labelling at customs clearance.
Why does blackcurrant taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the 100 ml bottle units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the blackcurrant blend itself harsh.
How long does blackcurrant in a 100 ml bottle last?
In Nouméa we measured 7 to 9 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
