Caramel box mod IQOS in Nouméa: the cheap shortlist
Caramel in Nouméa: 12 units tested over 4 weeks, box mod formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
How to tell a good box mod from a repack
Caramel sounds like one product. It is not: a box mod running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
Caramel prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Nouméa that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within XPF2.67 per 10 ml.
The short version: caramel in Nouméa works if the box mod, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a caramel box mod really costs in Nouméa
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in New Caledonia. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
How we tested caramel in a box mod
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 6–12 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Coil type inside the box mod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in New Caledonia, not a suggestion.
- Stock depth: 12 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
Where caramel goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why caramel tastes flat after two days.
- Chasing a discount on a box mod that then needs an adapter nobody in New Caledonia stocks.
- Buying the cheapest box mod available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
The rules that apply here
New Caledonia applies French-language labelling at customs clearance.
Wholesale lines to New Caledonia need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a box mod cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Nouméa: about XPF2.67 per 10 ml liquid plus XPF59 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Why does caramel taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the box mod units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the caramel blend itself harsh.
