Caramel box mod IQOS in Nouméa: the order shortlist
Caramel in Nouméa: 24 units tested over 5 weeks, box mod formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
Coil life, liquid cost and the caramel habit
Most people searching IQOS in New Caledonia are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in New Caledonia. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
If you only read one line: the box mod you buy decides how long caramel tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a caramel box mod really costs in Nouméa
We run caramel the same way in Nouméa: same box mod, same 5 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
How we tested caramel in a box mod
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the box mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Batch code and production date, so a caramel bottle turned in 5 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in New Caledonia, not a suggestion.
Where caramel goes wrong
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long caramel in Nouméa survives.
- Mixing caramel with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in New Caledonia sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a box mod cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Nouméa: about XPF2.4 per 10 ml liquid plus XPF48 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Can I order IQOS online in New Caledonia?
Yes, tracked dispatch before 14:00, and delivery lands in 6–12 business days. Stock is batch-traced, so the bottle you receive carries a dated code.
Why does caramel taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the box mod units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the caramel blend itself harsh.
