Caramel pod kit IQOS in Nouméa: the budget shortlist
Caramel in Nouméa: 12 units tested over 3 weeks, pod kit formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
What the label on Caramel is allowed to say
Most people searching IQOS in New Caledonia are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
Caramel in a pod kit is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Nouméa the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
The short version: caramel in Nouméa works if the pod kit, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a caramel pod kit really costs in Nouméa
Caramel prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Nouméa that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within XPF1.71 per 10 ml.
How we tested caramel in a pod kit
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Spare parts availability for pod kit in New Caledonia, since tanks and pods go first.
- Batch code and production date, so a caramel bottle turned in 3 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Coil type inside the pod kit, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where caramel goes wrong
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long caramel in Nouméa survives.
- Treating the advertised XPF28 entry kit as the real cost when refills run XPF1.71 per 10 ml.
- Buying the cheapest pod kit available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
