Caramel in Nouméa: 24 units tested over 4 weeks, pod kit formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
Coil life, liquid cost and the caramel habit
Caramel pod kit reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 24 units and 4 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
The honest read on caramel: 24 units through the same routine over 4 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
Below is the run we did for this search: 24 units, pod kit, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a caramel pod kit really costs in Nouméa
Caramel prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Nouméa that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within XPF2.06 per 10 ml.
How we tested caramel in a pod kit
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the pod kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every caramel bottle shipped into New Caledonia.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Stock depth: 24 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a pod kit arrives sealed but wrong.
Where caramel goes wrong
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in New Caledonia accept nicotine freight.
- Buying the cheapest pod kit available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Mixing caramel with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
The rules that apply here
Wholesale lines to New Caledonia need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.
Retail sales in New Caledonia sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

Frequently asked questions
Why does caramel taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the pod kit units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the caramel blend itself harsh.
How much does a pod kit cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Nouméa: about XPF2.06 per 10 ml liquid plus XPF56 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
How long does caramel in a pod kit last?
In Nouméa we measured 4 to 24 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
