Caramel prefilled pod IQOS in Nouméa: the online shortlist — Iqosfrenchpolynesia
Caramel in Nouméa: 22 units tested over 8 weeks, prefilled pod formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
Delivery, returns and what 6–12 business days really means
Caramel prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Nouméa that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within XPF2.24 per 10 ml.
Caramel prefilled pod reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 22 units and 8 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
The short version: caramel in Nouméa works if the prefilled pod, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a caramel prefilled pod really costs in Nouméa
Caramel prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Nouméa that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within XPF2.24 per 10 ml.
How we tested caramel in a prefilled pod
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the prefilled pod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Coil type inside the prefilled pod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in New Caledonia, not a suggestion.
- Batch code and production date, so a caramel bottle turned in 8 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Stock depth: 22 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
Where caramel goes wrong
- Treating the advertised XPF60 entry kit as the real cost when refills run XPF2.24 per 10 ml.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long caramel in Nouméa survives.
- Ignoring the batch date on a prefilled pod and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in New Caledonia sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
New Caledonia applies French-language labelling at customs clearance. Shipping of nicotine to New Caledonia runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.

Frequently asked questions
Is caramel legal to sell in New Caledonia?
New Caledonia applies French-language labelling at customs clearance.
How long does caramel in a prefilled pod last?
In Nouméa we measured 8 to 22 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Why does caramel taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the prefilled pod units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the caramel blend itself harsh.
