Coffee box mod IQOS in Nouméa: the flat shortlist
Coffee in Nouméa: 14 units tested over 2 weeks, box mod formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
What the label on Coffee is allowed to say
Coffee box mod reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 14 units and 2 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
Coffee sounds like one product. It is not: a box mod running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
If you only read one line: the box mod you buy decides how long coffee tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a coffee box mod really costs in Nouméa
Coffee prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Nouméa that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within XPF1.7 per 10 ml.
How we tested coffee in a box mod
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Pick the box mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in New Caledonia, not a suggestion.
- Coil type inside the box mod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 6–12 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
Where coffee goes wrong
- Mixing coffee with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Chasing a discount on a box mod that then needs an adapter nobody in New Caledonia stocks.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in New Caledonia accept nicotine freight.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in New Caledonia sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Packaging for coffee in New Caledonia must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.

Frequently asked questions
Is coffee legal to sell in New Caledonia?
New Caledonia applies French-language labelling at customs clearance.
Why does coffee taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the box mod units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the coffee blend itself harsh.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On coffee the budget price and the premium price can sit within XPF1.7 per 10 ml once 6–12 business days is counted.
