How we tested Cola squonk mod here
The honest read on cola: 14 units through the same routine over 5 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
We run cola the same way in Nouméa: same squonk mod, same 5 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
Below is the run we did for this search: 14 units, squonk mod, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a cola squonk mod really costs in Nouméa
Cola prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Nouméa that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within XPF2.58 per 10 ml.
How we tested cola in a squonk mod
- Pick the squonk mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 6–12 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every cola bottle shipped into New Caledonia.
- Stock depth: 14 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where cola goes wrong
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Mixing cola with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Treating the advertised XPF32 entry kit as the real cost when refills run XPF2.58 per 10 ml.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in New Caledonia sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Packaging for cola in New Caledonia must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.

Frequently asked questions
Why does cola taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the squonk mod units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the cola blend itself harsh.
How much does a squonk mod cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Nouméa: about XPF2.58 per 10 ml liquid plus XPF32 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
How long does cola in a squonk mod last?
In Nouméa we measured 5 to 14 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
