Graphite in Nouméa reaches the shelf in cartomizer formats, and the best ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
If you only read one line: the cartomizer you buy decides how long graphite tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a graphite cartomizer really costs in Nouméa
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in New Caledonia. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
How we tested graphite in a cartomizer
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every graphite bottle shipped into New Caledonia.
- Batch code and production date, so a graphite bottle turned in 7 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Coil type inside the cartomizer, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where graphite goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a cartomizer and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Chasing a discount on a cartomizer that then needs an adapter nobody in New Caledonia stocks.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.

Frequently asked questions
How long does graphite in a cartomizer last?
In Nouméa we measured 7 to 22 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
How much does a cartomizer cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Nouméa: about XPF2.62 per 10 ml liquid plus XPF59 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Why does graphite taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the cartomizer units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the graphite blend itself harsh.
