Lemon pen device IQOS in Nouméa: the cheap shortlist
Lemon in Nouméa: 6 units tested over 8 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
How to tell a good pen device from a repack
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in New Caledonia. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
Lemon prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Nouméa that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within XPF3.41 per 10 ml.
The short version: lemon in Nouméa works if the pen device, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a lemon pen device really costs in Nouméa
Lemon prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Nouméa that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within XPF3.41 per 10 ml.
How we tested lemon in a pen device
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every lemon bottle shipped into New Caledonia.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a pen device arrives sealed but wrong.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in New Caledonia, not a suggestion.
- Batch code and production date, so a lemon bottle turned in 8 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where lemon goes wrong
- Treating the advertised XPF61 entry kit as the real cost when refills run XPF3.41 per 10 ml.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why lemon tastes flat after two days.
- Mixing lemon with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in New Caledonia sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
New Caledonia applies French-language labelling at customs clearance. Shipping of nicotine to New Caledonia runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
