Licorice RDA IQOS in Nouméa: the best shortlist
Licorice in Nouméa: 24 units tested over 3 weeks, RDA formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
How to tell a good RDA from a repack
Licorice in a RDA is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Nouméa the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
Licorice prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Nouméa that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within XPF2.07 per 10 ml.
Below is the run we did for this search: 24 units, RDA, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a licorice RDA really costs in Nouméa
Licorice sounds like one product. It is not: a RDA running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
How we tested licorice in a RDA
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the RDA that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 6–12 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a RDA arrives sealed but wrong.
- Batch code and production date, so a licorice bottle turned in 3 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in New Caledonia, not a suggestion.
Where licorice goes wrong
- Mixing licorice with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Chasing a discount on a RDA that then needs an adapter nobody in New Caledonia stocks.
- Buying the cheapest RDA available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.

Frequently asked questions
What nicotine strength should licorice start at?
Start at whatever New Caledonia allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a RDA.
Is licorice legal to sell in New Caledonia?
New Caledonia applies French-language labelling at customs clearance.
Why does licorice taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the RDA units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the licorice blend itself harsh.
