Mint pen device IQOS in Nouméa: the compare shortlist — Iqosfrenchpolynesia
Mint in Nouméa: 9 units tested over 5 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
Choosing a pen device for mint
We run mint the same way in Nouméa: same pen device, same 5 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
Mint pen device reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 9 units and 5 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
Below is the run we did for this search: 9 units, pen device, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a mint pen device really costs in Nouméa
A mint pen device from the compared options in New Caledonia costs about XPF2.25 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
How we tested mint in a pen device
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a pen device arrives sealed but wrong.
- Batch code and production date, so a mint bottle turned in 5 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Stock depth: 9 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every mint bottle shipped into New Caledonia.
Where mint goes wrong
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long mint in Nouméa survives.
- Buying the cheapest pen device available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
The rules that apply here
New Caledonia applies French-language labelling at customs clearance. Shipping of nicotine to New Caledonia runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
Retail sales in New Caledonia sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

Frequently asked questions
How long does mint in a pen device last?
In Nouméa we measured 5 to 9 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Why does mint taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the pen device units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the mint blend itself harsh.
How much does a pen device cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Nouméa: about XPF2.25 per 10 ml liquid plus XPF48 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
