Coil life, liquid cost and the mint habit
A mint pod kit from the starter options in New Caledonia costs about XPF2.48 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
The honest read on mint: 22 units through the same routine over 9 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
Below is the run we did for this search: 22 units, pod kit, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a mint pod kit really costs in Nouméa
Mint prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Nouméa that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within XPF2.48 per 10 ml.
How we tested mint in a pod kit
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every mint bottle shipped into New Caledonia.
- Coil type inside the pod kit, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Batch code and production date, so a mint bottle turned in 9 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 6–12 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
Where mint goes wrong
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long mint in Nouméa survives.
- Buying the cheapest pod kit available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Mixing mint with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.

Frequently asked questions
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On mint the budget price and the premium price can sit within XPF2.48 per 10 ml once 6–12 business days is counted.
How long does mint in a pod kit last?
In Nouméa we measured 9 to 22 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
What nicotine strength should mint start at?
Start at whatever New Caledonia allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a pod kit.
