Plain box mod IQOS in Nouméa: the best shortlist
Plain in Nouméa: 14 units tested over 5 weeks, box mod formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
What the label on Plain is allowed to say
We run plain the same way in Nouméa: same box mod, same 5 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
The honest read on plain: 14 units through the same routine over 5 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
The short version: plain in Nouméa works if the box mod, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a plain box mod really costs in Nouméa
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in New Caledonia. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
How we tested plain in a box mod
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the box mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every plain bottle shipped into New Caledonia.
- Batch code and production date, so a plain bottle turned in 5 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in New Caledonia, not a suggestion.
- Spare parts availability for box mod in New Caledonia, since tanks and pods go first.
Where plain goes wrong
- Buying the cheapest box mod available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Ignoring the batch date on a box mod and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Mixing plain with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.

Frequently asked questions
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On plain the budget price and the premium price can sit within XPF1.65 per 10 ml once 6–12 business days is counted.
Can I order IQOS online in New Caledonia?
Yes, tracked dispatch before 14:00, and delivery lands in 6–12 business days. Stock is batch-traced, so the bottle you receive carries a dated code.
What nicotine strength should plain start at?
Start at whatever New Caledonia allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a box mod.
