Plum cartomizer IQOS in Nouméa: the budget shortlist
Plum in Nouméa: 6 units tested over 9 weeks, cartomizer formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
What the label on Plum is allowed to say
Plum cartomizer reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 6 units and 9 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
The honest read on plum: 6 units through the same routine over 9 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
The short version: plum in Nouméa works if the cartomizer, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a plum cartomizer really costs in Nouméa
Plum sounds like one product. It is not: a cartomizer running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
How we tested plum in a cartomizer
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the cartomizer that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every plum bottle shipped into New Caledonia.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in New Caledonia, not a suggestion.
- Coil type inside the cartomizer, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where plum goes wrong
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in New Caledonia accept nicotine freight.
- Mixing plum with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Treating the advertised XPF60 entry kit as the real cost when refills run XPF3.57 per 10 ml.

Frequently asked questions
Why does plum taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the cartomizer units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the plum blend itself harsh.
How much does a cartomizer cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Nouméa: about XPF3.57 per 10 ml liquid plus XPF60 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On plum the budget price and the premium price can sit within XPF3.57 per 10 ml once 6–12 business days is counted.
