Salted in Nouméa: 18 units tested over 9 weeks, 30 ml shortfill formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
Coil life, liquid cost and the salted habit
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in New Caledonia. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
Most people searching IQOS in New Caledonia are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
If you only read one line: the 30 ml shortfill you buy decides how long salted tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a salted 30 ml shortfill really costs in Nouméa
A salted 30 ml shortfill from the cheapest options in New Caledonia costs about XPF3.21 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
How we tested salted in a 30 ml shortfill
- Pick the 30 ml shortfill that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 6–12 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Batch code and production date, so a salted bottle turned in 9 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Coil type inside the 30 ml shortfill, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where salted goes wrong
- Chasing a discount on a 30 ml shortfill that then needs an adapter nobody in New Caledonia stocks.
- Buying the cheapest 30 ml shortfill available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Treating the advertised XPF42 entry kit as the real cost when refills run XPF3.21 per 10 ml.
