Salted box mod IQOS in Nouméa: the review shortlist
Salted in Nouméa: 12 units tested over 9 weeks, box mod formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
Choosing a box mod for salted
Ordering into Nouméa usually means waiting 6–12 business days. Plan the reorder around that, not around the flavour you like best.
Most people searching IQOS in New Caledonia are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
Below is the run we did for this search: 12 units, box mod, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a salted box mod really costs in Nouméa
We run salted the same way in Nouméa: same box mod, same 9 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
How we tested salted in a box mod
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the box mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a box mod arrives sealed but wrong.
- Coil type inside the box mod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 6–12 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
Where salted goes wrong
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in New Caledonia accept nicotine freight.
- Treating the advertised XPF48 entry kit as the real cost when refills run XPF2.23 per 10 ml.
- Chasing a discount on a box mod that then needs an adapter nobody in New Caledonia stocks.
The rules that apply here
New Caledonia applies French-language labelling at customs clearance.
Retail sales in New Caledonia sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a box mod cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Nouméa: about XPF2.23 per 10 ml liquid plus XPF48 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Why does salted taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the box mod units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the salted blend itself harsh.
How long does salted in a box mod last?
In Nouméa we measured 9 to 12 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
