Salted prefilled pod IQOS in Nouméa: the best shortlist — Iqosfrenchpolynesia
Salted in Nouméa: 8 units tested over 3 weeks, prefilled pod formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
How to tell a good prefilled pod from a repack
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in New Caledonia. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
A salted prefilled pod from the best options in New Caledonia costs about XPF2.09 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
The short version: salted in Nouméa works if the prefilled pod, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a salted prefilled pod really costs in Nouméa
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in New Caledonia. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
How we tested salted in a prefilled pod
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Stock depth: 8 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every salted bottle shipped into New Caledonia.
- Batch code and production date, so a salted bottle turned in 3 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where salted goes wrong
- Treating the advertised XPF67 entry kit as the real cost when refills run XPF2.09 per 10 ml.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why salted tastes flat after two days.
- Buying the cheapest prefilled pod available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.

Frequently asked questions
What nicotine strength should salted start at?
Start at whatever New Caledonia allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a prefilled pod.
Why does salted taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the prefilled pod units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the salted blend itself harsh.
How much does a prefilled pod cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Nouméa: about XPF2.09 per 10 ml liquid plus XPF67 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
