Ordering IQOS to Nouméa: the practical version
If you are looking at salted in New Caledonia, the first question is not strength. It is whether the refill pack you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
We run salted the same way in Nouméa: same refill pack, same 9 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
If you only read one line: the refill pack you buy decides how long salted tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a salted refill pack really costs in Nouméa
Salted prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Nouméa that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within XPF2.63 per 10 ml.
How we tested salted in a refill pack
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the refill pack that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in New Caledonia, not a suggestion.
- Coil type inside the refill pack, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Spare parts availability for refill pack in New Caledonia, since tanks and pods go first.
Where salted goes wrong
- Treating the advertised XPF32 entry kit as the real cost when refills run XPF2.63 per 10 ml.
- Mixing salted with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why salted tastes flat after two days.
The rules that apply here

Frequently asked questions
How much does a refill pack cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Nouméa: about XPF2.63 per 10 ml liquid plus XPF32 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
What nicotine strength should salted start at?
Start at whatever New Caledonia allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a refill pack.
Why does salted taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the refill pack units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the salted blend itself harsh.
