Salted vape pen IQOS in Nouméa: the review shortlist
Salted in Nouméa: 6 units tested over 4 weeks, vape pen formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
Coil life, liquid cost and the salted habit
We run salted the same way in Nouméa: same vape pen, same 4 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
The honest read on salted: 6 units through the same routine over 4 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
The short version: salted in Nouméa works if the vape pen, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a salted vape pen really costs in Nouméa
Salted vape pen reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 6 units and 4 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
How we tested salted in a vape pen
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Pick the vape pen that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Batch code and production date, so a salted bottle turned in 4 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a vape pen arrives sealed but wrong.
- Coil type inside the vape pen, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where salted goes wrong
- Treating the advertised XPF32 entry kit as the real cost when refills run XPF2.3 per 10 ml.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Chasing a discount on a vape pen that then needs an adapter nobody in New Caledonia stocks.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a vape pen cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Nouméa: about XPF2.3 per 10 ml liquid plus XPF32 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On salted the budget price and the premium price can sit within XPF2.3 per 10 ml once 6–12 business days is counted.
Why does salted taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the vape pen units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the salted blend itself harsh.
