Sour 30 ml shortfill IQOS in Nouméa: the compare shortlist — Iqosfrenchpolynesia
Sour in Nouméa: 6 units tested over 7 weeks, 30 ml shortfill formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
Coil life, liquid cost and the sour habit
A sour 30 ml shortfill from the compared options in New Caledonia costs about XPF2.04 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
Sour in a 30 ml shortfill is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Nouméa the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
Below is the run we did for this search: 6 units, 30 ml shortfill, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.

How we tested sour in a 30 ml shortfill
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the 30 ml shortfill that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a 30 ml shortfill arrives sealed but wrong.
- Coil type inside the 30 ml shortfill, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every sour bottle shipped into New Caledonia.
Where sour goes wrong
- Chasing a discount on a 30 ml shortfill that then needs an adapter nobody in New Caledonia stocks.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long sour in Nouméa survives.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why sour tastes flat after two days.
