Ordering IQOS to Nouméa: the practical version
Sour in a 30 ml shortfill is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Nouméa the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
The honest read on sour: 23 units through the same routine over 2 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
The short version: sour in Nouméa works if the 30 ml shortfill, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.

How we tested sour in a 30 ml shortfill
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Coil type inside the 30 ml shortfill, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a 30 ml shortfill arrives sealed but wrong.
- Spare parts availability for 30 ml shortfill in New Caledonia, since tanks and pods go first.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in New Caledonia, not a suggestion.
Where sour goes wrong
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long sour in Nouméa survives.
- Treating the advertised XPF56 entry kit as the real cost when refills run XPF2.77 per 10 ml.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a 30 ml shortfill cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Nouméa: about XPF2.77 per 10 ml liquid plus XPF56 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Why does sour taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the 30 ml shortfill units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the sour blend itself harsh.
Is sour legal to sell in New Caledonia?
New Caledonia applies French-language labelling at customs clearance.
