Sour pen device IQOS in Nouméa: the deals shortlist
Sour in Nouméa: 9 units tested over 9 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
Coil life, liquid cost and the sour habit
If you are looking at sour in New Caledonia, the first question is not strength. It is whether the pen device you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
Sour pen device reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 9 units and 9 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
If you only read one line: the pen device you buy decides how long sour tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a sour pen device really costs in Nouméa
Sour prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Nouméa that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within XPF1.68 per 10 ml.
How we tested sour in a pen device
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every sour bottle shipped into New Caledonia.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in New Caledonia, not a suggestion.
- Spare parts availability for pen device in New Caledonia, since tanks and pods go first.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 6–12 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
Where sour goes wrong
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in New Caledonia accept nicotine freight.
- Ignoring the batch date on a pen device and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why sour tastes flat after two days.
