Home / Sour pod kit IQOS in Nouméa: the cheap shortlist

Choosing a pod kit for sour

Sour pod kit reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 12 units and 3 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.

The honest read on sour: 12 units through the same routine over 3 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.

The short version: sour in Nouméa works if the pod kit, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.

What a sour pod kit really costs in Nouméa

Sour prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Nouméa that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within XPF3.47 per 10 ml.

How we tested sour in a pod kit

1. Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
2. Pick the pod kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
3. Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.

• Stock depth: 12 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
• Batch code and production date, so a sour bottle turned in 3 weeks ago is not sold as new.
• Spare parts availability for pod kit in New Caledonia, since tanks and pods go first.
• Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every sour bottle shipped into New Caledonia.

Where sour goes wrong

• Treating the advertised XPF65 entry kit as the real cost when refills run XPF3.47 per 10 ml.
• Buying the cheapest pod kit available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
• Ignoring the batch date on a pod kit and discovering the listed price was for old stock.

The rules that apply here

New Caledonia applies French-language labelling at customs clearance.

Packaging for sour in New Caledonia must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.
