Sour prefilled pod IQOS in Nouméa: the flat shortlist — Iqosfrenchpolynesia
Sour in Nouméa: 20 units tested over 4 weeks, prefilled pod formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
Coil life, liquid cost and the sour habit
Sour sounds like one product. It is not: a prefilled pod running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
Sour in Nouméa reaches the shelf in prefilled pod formats, and the flat-rate ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
Below is the run we did for this search: 20 units, prefilled pod, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a sour prefilled pod really costs in Nouméa
Sour in a prefilled pod is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Nouméa the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
How we tested sour in a prefilled pod
- Pick the prefilled pod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every sour bottle shipped into New Caledonia.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Stock depth: 20 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
Where sour goes wrong
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in New Caledonia accept nicotine freight.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Treating the advertised XPF46 entry kit as the real cost when refills run XPF3.28 per 10 ml.

Frequently asked questions
Is sour legal to sell in New Caledonia?
New Caledonia applies French-language labelling at customs clearance.
How much does a prefilled pod cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Nouméa: about XPF3.28 per 10 ml liquid plus XPF46 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Why does sour taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the prefilled pod units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the sour blend itself harsh.
