Sour RDA IQOS in Nouméa: the budget shortlist
Sour in Nouméa: 24 units tested over 5 weeks, RDA formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
Choosing a RDA for sour
The honest read on sour: 24 units through the same routine over 5 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
Sour RDA reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 24 units and 5 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
The short version: sour in Nouméa works if the RDA, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a sour RDA really costs in Nouméa
Sour prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Nouméa that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within XPF2.4 per 10 ml.
How we tested sour in a RDA
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the RDA that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a RDA arrives sealed but wrong.
- Coil type inside the RDA, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where sour goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a RDA and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Buying the cheapest RDA available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why sour tastes flat after two days.
The rules that apply here
Packaging for sour in New Caledonia must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.
