Sour RDA IQOS in Nouméa: the cheap shortlist
Sour in Nouméa: 9 units tested over 3 weeks, RDA formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
What sour costs in Nouméa
Sour prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Nouméa that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within XPF1.93 per 10 ml.
Ordering into Nouméa usually means waiting 6–12 business days. Plan the reorder around that, not around the flavour you like best.
If you only read one line: the RDA you buy decides how long sour tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a sour RDA really costs in Nouméa
A sour RDA from the cheapest options in New Caledonia costs about XPF1.93 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
How we tested sour in a RDA
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the RDA that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Coil type inside the RDA, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 6–12 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a RDA arrives sealed but wrong.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in New Caledonia, not a suggestion.
Where sour goes wrong
- Chasing a discount on a RDA that then needs an adapter nobody in New Caledonia stocks.
- Treating the advertised XPF34 entry kit as the real cost when refills run XPF1.93 per 10 ml.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long sour in Nouméa survives.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in New Caledonia sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
New Caledonia applies French-language labelling at customs clearance. Shipping of nicotine to New Caledonia runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a RDA cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Nouméa: about XPF1.93 per 10 ml liquid plus XPF34 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
How long does sour in a RDA last?
In Nouméa we measured 3 to 9 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Why does sour taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the RDA units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the sour blend itself harsh.
