Sour starter kit IQOS in Nouméa: the order shortlist
Sour in Nouméa: 14 units tested over 3 weeks, starter kit formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
Choosing a starter kit for sour
Sour starter kit reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 14 units and 3 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
We run sour the same way in Nouméa: same starter kit, same 3 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
The short version: sour in Nouméa works if the starter kit, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a sour starter kit really costs in Nouméa
A sour starter kit from the pre-order options in New Caledonia costs about XPF1.9 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
How we tested sour in a starter kit
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 6–12 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Stock depth: 14 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Spare parts availability for starter kit in New Caledonia, since tanks and pods go first.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every sour bottle shipped into New Caledonia.
Where sour goes wrong
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Buying the cheapest starter kit available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Mixing sour with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
