Tobacco starter kit IQOS in Nouméa: the cheap shortlist — Iqosfrenchpolynesia
Tobacco in Nouméa: 11 units tested over 8 weeks, starter kit formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
Coil life, liquid cost and the tobacco habit
Tobacco in Nouméa reaches the shelf in starter kit formats, and the cheapest ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
Tobacco prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Nouméa that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within XPF1.63 per 10 ml.
Below is the run we did for this search: 11 units, starter kit, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a tobacco starter kit really costs in Nouméa
Ordering into Nouméa usually means waiting 6–12 business days. Plan the reorder around that, not around the flavour you like best.
How we tested tobacco in a starter kit
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Pick the starter kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Coil type inside the starter kit, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Stock depth: 11 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 6–12 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in New Caledonia, not a suggestion.
Where tobacco goes wrong
- Treating the advertised XPF51 entry kit as the real cost when refills run XPF1.63 per 10 ml.
- Chasing a discount on a starter kit that then needs an adapter nobody in New Caledonia stocks.
- Mixing tobacco with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
The rules that apply here
Packaging for tobacco in New Caledonia must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.
Wholesale lines to New Caledonia need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.

Frequently asked questions
Why does tobacco taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the starter kit units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the tobacco blend itself harsh.
How long does tobacco in a starter kit last?
In Nouméa we measured 8 to 11 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
How much does a starter kit cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Nouméa: about XPF1.63 per 10 ml liquid plus XPF51 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
