Tobacco vape pen IQOS in Nouméa: the best shortlist
Tobacco in Nouméa: 8 units tested over 6 weeks, vape pen formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
Coil life, liquid cost and the tobacco habit
Tobacco sounds like one product. It is not: a vape pen running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
We run tobacco the same way in Nouméa: same vape pen, same 6 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
The short version: tobacco in Nouméa works if the vape pen, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a tobacco vape pen really costs in Nouméa
Tobacco sounds like one product. It is not: a vape pen running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
How we tested tobacco in a vape pen
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the vape pen that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Spare parts availability for vape pen in New Caledonia, since tanks and pods go first.
- Coil type inside the vape pen, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in New Caledonia, not a suggestion.
Where tobacco goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a vape pen and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Chasing a discount on a vape pen that then needs an adapter nobody in New Caledonia stocks.
- Mixing tobacco with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.

New Caledonia applies French-language labelling at customs clearance.

How much does a vape pen cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Nouméa: about XPF2.9 per 10 ml liquid plus XPF31 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
