Coil life, liquid cost and the tropical habit
We run tropical the same way in Nouméa: same 30 ml shortfill, same 3 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
Tropical 30 ml shortfill reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 19 units and 3 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
The short version: tropical in Nouméa works if the 30 ml shortfill, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a tropical 30 ml shortfill really costs in Nouméa
Tropical prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Nouméa that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within XPF2.41 per 10 ml.
How we tested tropical in a 30 ml shortfill
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the 30 ml shortfill that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 6–12 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a 30 ml shortfill arrives sealed but wrong.
- Batch code and production date, so a tropical bottle turned in 3 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where tropical goes wrong
- Buying the cheapest 30 ml shortfill available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in New Caledonia accept nicotine freight.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in New Caledonia sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Packaging for tropical in New Caledonia must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.
