Tropical box mod IQOS in Nouméa: the cheap shortlist
Tropical in Nouméa: 8 units tested over 6 weeks, box mod formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
Stock, batch codes and the dispatch window
Tropical in Nouméa reaches the shelf in box mod formats, and the cheapest ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
Ordering into Nouméa usually means waiting 6–12 business days. Plan the reorder around that, not around the flavour you like best.
If you only read one line: the box mod you buy decides how long tropical tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a tropical box mod really costs in Nouméa
Tropical prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Nouméa that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within XPF3.5 per 10 ml.
How we tested tropical in a box mod
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the box mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every tropical bottle shipped into New Caledonia.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a box mod arrives sealed but wrong.
- Spare parts availability for box mod in New Caledonia, since tanks and pods go first.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where tropical goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why tropical tastes flat after two days.
- Mixing tropical with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
The rules that apply here

Frequently asked questions
How much does a box mod cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Nouméa: about XPF3.5 per 10 ml liquid plus XPF47 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
How long does tropical in a box mod last?
In Nouméa we measured 6 to 8 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
What nicotine strength should tropical start at?
Start at whatever New Caledonia allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a box mod.
