Frozen pen device IQOS in Nouméa: the best shortlist
Frozen in Nouméa: 8 units tested over 7 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
Where buyers go wrong with frozen in New Caledonia
Frozen sounds like one product. It is not: a pen device running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
Frozen prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Nouméa that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within XPF3.38 per 10 ml.
The short version: frozen in Nouméa works if the pen device, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a frozen pen device really costs in Nouméa
Frozen prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Nouméa that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within XPF3.38 per 10 ml.
How we tested frozen in a pen device
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Stock depth: 8 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Batch code and production date, so a frozen bottle turned in 7 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Coil type inside the pen device, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 6–12 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
Where frozen goes wrong
- Treating the advertised XPF57 entry kit as the real cost when refills run XPF3.38 per 10 ml.
- Ignoring the batch date on a pen device and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long frozen in Nouméa survives.
The rules that apply here
New Caledonia applies French-language labelling at customs clearance.
Retail sales in New Caledonia sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

Frequently asked questions
What nicotine strength should frozen start at?
Start at whatever New Caledonia allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a pen device.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On frozen the budget price and the premium price can sit within XPF3.38 per 10 ml once 6–12 business days is counted.
How long does frozen in a pen device last?
In Nouméa we measured 7 to 8 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
