Plain box mod IQOS in Nouméa: the cheap shortlist
Plain in Nouméa: 9 units tested over 2 weeks, box mod formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
Where buyers go wrong with plain in New Caledonia
A plain box mod from the cheapest options in New Caledonia costs about XPF2.07 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
Most people searching IQOS in New Caledonia are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
If you only read one line: the box mod you buy decides how long plain tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a plain box mod really costs in Nouméa
Plain prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Nouméa that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within XPF2.07 per 10 ml.
How we tested plain in a box mod
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the box mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every plain bottle shipped into New Caledonia.
- Stock depth: 9 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Batch code and production date, so a plain bottle turned in 2 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where plain goes wrong
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in New Caledonia accept nicotine freight.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why plain tastes flat after two days.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
