Sour RDA IQOS in Nouméa: the flat shortlist
Sour in Nouméa: 12 units tested over 4 weeks, RDA formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
Where buyers go wrong with sour in New Caledonia
Sour RDA reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 12 units and 4 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
Sour prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Nouméa that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within XPF3.01 per 10 ml.
Below is the run we did for this search: 12 units, RDA, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a sour RDA really costs in Nouméa
Sour in a RDA is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Nouméa the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
How we tested sour in a RDA
- Pick the RDA that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Coil type inside the RDA, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 6–12 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Spare parts availability for RDA in New Caledonia, since tanks and pods go first.
Where sour goes wrong
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long sour in Nouméa survives.
- Treating the advertised XPF62 entry kit as the real cost when refills run XPF3.01 per 10 ml.
- Ignoring the batch date on a RDA and discovering the listed price was for old stock.

Frequently asked questions
Is sour legal to sell in New Caledonia?
New Caledonia applies French-language labelling at customs clearance.
Why does sour taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the RDA units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the sour blend itself harsh.
What nicotine strength should sour start at?
Start at whatever New Caledonia allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a RDA.
