Tropical RDA IQOS in Nouméa: the deals shortlist
Tropical in Nouméa: 8 units tested over 4 weeks, RDA formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
What the label on Tropical is allowed to say
Tropical prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Nouméa that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within XPF2.68 per 10 ml.
A tropical RDA from the discounted options in New Caledonia costs about XPF2.68 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
The short version: tropical in Nouméa works if the RDA, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a tropical RDA really costs in Nouméa
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in New Caledonia. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
How we tested tropical in a RDA
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Pick the RDA that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in New Caledonia, not a suggestion.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 6–12 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Spare parts availability for RDA in New Caledonia, since tanks and pods go first.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a RDA arrives sealed but wrong.
Where tropical goes wrong
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in New Caledonia accept nicotine freight.
- Mixing tropical with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Treating the advertised XPF39 entry kit as the real cost when refills run XPF2.68 per 10 ml.
The rules that apply here
New Caledonia applies French-language labelling at customs clearance. Shipping of nicotine to New Caledonia runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
Packaging for tropical in New Caledonia must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a RDA cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Nouméa: about XPF2.68 per 10 ml liquid plus XPF39 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
What nicotine strength should tropical start at?
Start at whatever New Caledonia allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a RDA.
How long does tropical in a RDA last?
In Nouméa we measured 4 to 8 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
