Salted mesh tank IQOS in Nouméa: the price shortlist
Salted in Nouméa: 7 units tested over 5 weeks, mesh tank formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
Ordering IQOS to Nouméa: the practical version
Salted in a mesh tank is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Nouméa the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
Salted prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Nouméa that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within XPF2.89 per 10 ml.
The short version: salted in Nouméa works if the mesh tank, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a salted mesh tank really costs in Nouméa
Ordering into Nouméa usually means waiting 6–12 business days. Plan the reorder around that, not around the flavour you like best.
How we tested salted in a mesh tank
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the mesh tank that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in New Caledonia, not a suggestion.
- Coil type inside the mesh tank, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a mesh tank arrives sealed but wrong.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
Where salted goes wrong
- Treating the advertised XPF45 entry kit as the real cost when refills run XPF2.89 per 10 ml.
- Buying the cheapest mesh tank available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why salted tastes flat after two days.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in New Caledonia sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
New Caledonia applies French-language labelling at customs clearance.

Frequently asked questions
Why does salted taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the mesh tank units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the salted blend itself harsh.
How much does a mesh tank cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Nouméa: about XPF2.89 per 10 ml liquid plus XPF45 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On salted the budget price and the premium price can sit within XPF2.89 per 10 ml once 6–12 business days is counted.
